says this very well in his (admittedly, a bit ivory towerish) commentary which I agree about 75% with. What I don't agree with is his idea about the only effective way of dealing with AIDS in Africa being the adoption of safer sex practice. This assumes that most AIDS cases in Africa are sexually transmitted and that is a highly specious assertation.
The medical infrastructure in most of Africa is light years behind the industrial world. As such, a much larger percentage of AIDS infections still come from the lack of blood screening and adequate supplies. Not to mention...
