More From 24's Whore
I've already had people asking me whether there was a technical faux pas at the end of last night's episode of 24. The scene in question is where Miles uses some sort of device to delete the evidence implicating President Logan from the digital voice recorder that Chloe has attached to her system.
To be honest, I don't really know. Flash memory isn't subject to magnetic fields like magnetic storage devices (floppy disks) and most are pretty well protected from static discharge. It's not at all unreasonable to think that the government would have acces to a device that could directly delete the data without actively accessing the file system so until I get evidence to the contrary the 24 writers will have to get the benefit of the doubt here. I do have to say that any type of device that could wirelessly delete files from a flash chip would probably have to emit a relatively powerful signal, and as such, it's hard to imagine Chloe's laptop not picking up any residual effects.read more
