Back in 2007 a couple of representatives from the Rainbow/Push coalition
met with Atlanta Braves GM John Schuerholz about the lack of American-born black players on the team. As you might expect, word of the meeting was met with typical accusations of
double standards or playing the infamous
"race card." While I wouldn’t strongly argue against those charges, frankly, I don't think it's terribly unreasonable to observe that the team in America's "black (as in African-American) Mecca" didn't have a single freaking African-American (AA) on the roster.
